About Kindergarten Keepers
Welcome to Kindergarten Keepers! The purpose of this website is to provide kindergarten teachers with the best strategies, research, and resources to use in their classrooms. I have spent hours scouring the Internet for the perfect Interactive White Board activities, the most effective letter recognition games, and interesting centers for my students. Although there are hundreds of games and activities out there, I have been very selective and only included those activities that have a clear purpose, utilize instructional time effectively, and provide scaffolding and feedback for students. I hope this site is helpful to you!
Currently, this site focuses on literacy in kindergarten, although, it is expanding to include math and classroom management. The seven major areas of literacy instruction each have a page of their own and are found on the left hand side of this page: aesthetic, comprehension, fluency, phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, and writing. Other areas that have been added are: assessment and intervention, beginning of the year, behavior management, high frequency words, math, concepts about print, handwriting, and recommended resources. Information is added on a weekly basis, so check back often.
Parents: Feel free to explore this website and use the suggestions and resources to work with your child. Almost all of the interactive white board games and activities can be played on your home computer.
